How does John get that really cool fuzzy electric sound in the single release of Revolution?

Hi Tony,
sorry for the delay in my answer... no internet connection for a couple of days!
Anyway about the sound.. he got it by plugging his electric guitar (probably the Epiphone Casino) directly into the mixing console and not, as it happens normally, into an amplifier and then getting the sound through a microphone into the mixing console.
