Beatles, The/Ringo Starr - Lefty?

Question
Does Ringo Starr do anything left-handed away from the drum kit?  I'd heard he was born a lefty, and that's why he plays his fills so "differently".

Answer
Ringo does everything lefty EXCEPT play drums.  His drum set is set up the same way a righty's would be.

If there is any reason Ringo plays fills differently, it's because he rarely did any showboat drumming.  It took the other three Beatles a lot of coaxing to get him to do that one solo on "The End."  Ringo has never been the Ginger Baker-type drummer who will go off into a seventeen minute drum feature.  He just played his thing behind the other guys, and ended up being great that way.

Expertise

I am a HUGE fan who happened to soak up lots and lots of trivia on her way through Beatle land (I`ve been told I have Beatle radar), so I`m able to answer a question about almost anything!

Experience

I'm a professional music teacher, mainly in vocal music. My particular specialty would be questions on the music theory of the Beatles songs, or ending "who sang what" debates.
