Question
Hello Chalk,
I am doing some investigative work on the value of my father's record "Sergeant Peppers..." It is an original album in very good condition, though this particular album has been double printed. For example the people on the cover have two eyebrows, two eyelashes and eyes etc., above the orginal pair of eyes and so on. The color of the double print is sort of a aqua marine.I have been searching the web and I am unable to come up with any answers. Can you help me? Thank you for your assistance Melissa

Answer
Hi, Melissa,

My Profile says "Please note that my expertise does *not* cover the value of Beatles memorabilia, except by using Google". But you've obviously tried that yourself and got nowhere...

My first thought is that this may be like a badly-printed postage stamp, i.e. quite valuable. But I honestly can't say.

I think you may get somewhere by e-mailing the details of your question to sites that deal in Beatles memorabilia - there are some here: http://www.google.be/search?hl=en&q=value+Beatles+memorabilia&btnG=Google+Search...

But be careful! Don't accept offers they might make to buy it or anything. Just absorb their opinions. If it's your father's record, you probably don't want to sell it anyway ... and he no doubt doesn't want you to! ;o)

I think this may help you too: http://www.google.be/search?hl=en&q=%22dealers+in+Beatles+memorabilia%22&btnG=Se... - send them your question. What can you lose?

Good Luck,

Chalk.

Experience

There was something in Paul's voice when he sang the phrase "Love Me Do" at the end of the verses that told me everything in Pop was going to change, and it did! I left my first band (which I had founded), partly because the other members thought I was a bit weird to want to change our style to reflect that of the Beatles! As a rock musician, I appeared with them in the ABC Theatre in Blackpool, England in 1963, and my songwriting has always been influenced by theirs.
