 The Beatles' first album was released in 1962, but they had many different incarnations of 'The Beatles' before this. I am sorry, but I am presently away until Wednesday, May 2. I will further reply to your question then.
Hello again Bianka - I had gotten in earlier than I thought.
 The 'Beatles' originally formed as a band John Lennon had formed, from a group of his friends. They were first called "The Quarrymen". John was the only true Beatle in the lineup at first. A mutual friend of John and Paul McCartney's, Ivan Vaughn, was supposedly the one who acquainted the two together on July 6, 1957 at the Woolton Fete. The Quarrymen were performing there that day, and Paul was to meet John there. I personally figure the two had probably seen each other around in the past though. They probably hadn't formally met until then. Paul was intrigued that John could make up the lyrics out of the air (as John had added in Vikings' "Come and Go With Me" a phrase that included "...the penitentiary" (which isn't in the original song). After the Quarrymen played, and John heard Paul sing Eddie Cochran's "Twenty Flight Rock", John was impressed Paul knew all the correct words of the song. John asked Paul to join the Quarrymen very soon after this meeting.
Paul had gotten George to join. In 1962, John, Paul, and George had asked Ringo Starr to take over the drums from Pete Best.
 The Beatles had gone through some name changes along the way - "Johnny and The Moondogs", "The Silver Beatles" and finally "The Beatles" (I do believe they had the name "The Beetles" in there as well).
Your question that you gave me just might want to know when the Beatles' birthdays were - John Lennon was born Oct 9, 1940 (died Dec 8, 1980), Paul McCartney was born June 18, 1942, George was born Feb. 25, 1943 (died Nov. 29, 2001), and Ringo Starr was born earlier than the other three - July 7, 1940 (his birth name was Richard Starkey).
