Beatles, The/love

Question
As I was browsing Alan Pollack's Notes On the Beatles, I came across this peculiar indication that on the US release of the Magical Mystery Tour album, the song All You Need Is Love is just the refrain repeated over and over without the verses.  As I do not own the album, I was wondering if you knew this to be true, or even if this version exists somewhere else.  Visit this site to see what I'm talking about (scroll down to the album in question, and also at the bottom) - http://www.icce.rug.nl/~soundscapes/DATABASES/AWP/awp-beatles_canon.html

Answer
Hi, Bob,

I've looked at http://www.icce.rug.nl/~soundscapes/DATABASES/AWP/awp-beatles_canon.html but I couldn't see the comment about the refrain being repeated over and over without the verses.

Anyway, here a page that may interest you: http://www.friktech.com/btls/variant3.htm

Also, this one seems very relevant - there's no mention of repeats: http://www.beatles411.com/elt3.htm

And one more for luck: http://www.uwgb.edu/ogradyt/BEATLES.htm

Here is a Google URL to give you further links: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=Magical+Mystery+Tour+...

I hope you don't mind all these Web addresses, but I don't have the answer, so I did a bit of searching for you...

There was something in Paul's voice when he sang the phrase "Love Me Do" at the end of the verses that told me everything in Pop was going to change, and it did! I left my first band (which I had founded), partly because the other members thought I was a bit weird to want to change our style to reflect that of the Beatles! As a rock musician, I appeared with them in the ABC Theatre in Blackpool, England in 1963, and my songwriting has always been influenced by theirs.
