Question
Hi James, I have been searching for an answer but can not find one. I am a hugh fan and started collecting vinyl a few years and aquired 3 sgt. mono and 3 stereo that are 1 pressings according to the back of the cover (no nems etc.)  but all have differences in the label print and design. One has like an amateurish label print, one has splhcb on 2 lines, one 3 lines and so on. Do you know why so many different labels and can you tell which factory they came from by the print of the labels? Thanks so much, Robert

Answer
All the Sgt. Pepper albums were Capitol or Parlaphone/EMI.  You can't tell where they came from by the print on the labels, but it would be odd that the different labels would all be 1st pressings.  It is more likely that while maybe sold in 1967 as an initial release, that they are second or third prints.  For each print, they would use different labels.
