Beatles, The/question about Beatles song about parenting, etc

Question
Hi,
I'm soon adopting a baby from Guatemala and want to have a ceremony. Are there any Beatles songs about being a parent, a mom, etc?

Thanks.

Answer
First of all, congratulations on the adoption!

Unfortunately, there aren't any Beatles songs that are about being a parent specifically.  While there are songs that mention parenting, like "She's Leaving Home" and "Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da," they're not really positive views.  Fact is, most of their children were born after the Beatles broke up, so they didn't really have anything to write about then!

The closest I can think of for a song to a child is John Lennon's "Beautiful Boy," which is a quasi-lullaby.  However, it mentions his son Sean by name at the end, and specifically talks about Daddy being there.  And the child is a boy, obviously, so if your child is a girl, that's not going to help.

If you wanted, there are some songs about love that could probably apply to a baby's arrival, such as "And I Love Her" or "Here, There, and Everywhere."

I hope this helps.  You can always ask a followup question if need be.  Thanks for taking your time to ask me a question.

I am a HUGE fan who happened to soak up lots and lots of trivia on her way through Beatle land (I`ve been told I have Beatle radar), so I`m able to answer a question about almost anything!

I'm a professional music teacher, mainly in vocal music. My particular specialty would be questions on the music theory of the Beatles songs, or ending "who sang what" debates.
