Question
Hi,
I'm working on buying all of the equipment needed to post carbonate wine
and water.   I'd like to bottle it in a glass bottle.  Please let me know which of
the following would be safe for bottling?   My goal is to have the carbonation
level about the same as a soda or beer 10psi max.
- swingtop beer bottle?
- 375ml glass wine bottle with a metal twist cap?

Thanks so much,

Answer
Beer carbonation averages around 2.60 CO2/volume.At 10PSI & 33 -34 F,you would be in that average. At that level, any beer bottle would suffice. The closure could be a twist cap.

You must remember that about .25% of carbonation is lost at filling,so the filling and counter pressure of the bottle filler is important.

Soda carbonation averages around 3.15 volumes,and requires 15PSI & 34F

If you are talking sparkling wine, then you are looking at an entirely different bottle, and means of carbonation

Sparkling wines average 6.0 CO2 volumes
