Question
Hi I'm sort of new again having brewed years ago..I have a problem when I open the beer after it has fermented then bottled..some bottles pour nice and easy others just about explode with foam out of the bottle..what am I doing wrong. the bottles sit in the basemnt in a cool dry place until I'm ready to use them tasts good but the  opening is a bit of a problem.

Answer
They should all be the same if bottled at the same time and in the same way.  Either the bottles were not sterilized before filling, or you accidentally got some of the sediment into some bottles and not into the other bottles. (The sediment has a concentration of yeast and some nutrients, and so will ferment longer and produce more gas.)

Make sure that the sediment has formed well before bottling, and siphon carefully to reduce siphoning any of the sediment into the bottles.  If you get some sediment into the last few bottles (so you don't waste any of the beer), then drink those bottles first.

Hope this helps!

Expertise

I have been brewing beer at home for more than 10 years. Would like to help other people get started. I can recommend equipment, methods, ingredients, and estimate what it would cost to get set up. I have travelled a lot in Europe, and have tried many kinds of beer.

Experience

More than ten years of home brewing.
