Question
Hello there, Is it possible to make a Good Commercial quality beer using a can only ?  Commercial beers (especially Lagers) have a certain flavor that is difficult to describe but 'that' taste is there without any doubt. I'm sure you understand the taste I'm referring to. Some say it is a chemical additive that we Home Brewers are unable to use. A secret, if you will. Is that true ? Many thanks.

Answer
That is false,no chemical additive is added to brewing process, just for taste, nor at any area of the process. There are various salts or acids,(all ok for humans) added to adjust water for a good brewing process. This ensures good enzymatic reactions, during mashing. Two such additives are Calcium sulfate, and phosphoric acid.Note many soft drinks use phosphoric acid.

Yes it is possible for a home brewer to produce a good commercial type beer.

I'm not sure what you mean by "using a can only"could you explain?
                      Thanks
