Beer/vanilla extract

Question
Hi there im not sure if this is the right section to ask this
but does all the alcohol in vanilla extract evaporate?

Answer
This is a bit outside my normal area.  I would say "it depends".  In normal use, much of the alcohol in vanilla extract will evaporate, if you cook it as in a cake or cookies.

Also, consider that you might use a teaspoon of vanilla extract, which is about 5ml.  It might be 30% alcohol, so there's 1.5ml of alcohol.  If you were to put that into 12oz (beer bottle size) of water, the total alcohol content would be less than 0.5% (the same as "no alcohol" beer).

So, unless you are hypersensitive to alcohol, I would not worry.
