Question
Hello,  I have made homemade beer for years and have never had this problem.  When I open a beer I get nothing but foam, If I pour it into a big pitcher and let it settle it's ok to drink.
I have double checked and I can't seem to find anything different that I may have done on this batch that I didn't do on the others.
Any ideas you might have would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks  Doria

Answer
most cases of gushing,as your description suggests,is due to overpriming or microbial spoilage in the bottle. To avoid this problem in the future,i suggest:

1---making sure your fermentation is finished before priming
2---carefully measure priming sugar
3---practice good cleaning and sanitizing of equipment
4--- all bottles and capping parts etc included.

remember if equipment, bottles etc are not properly cleaned first, then sanitizing won't be effective
