Question
Sirs: I have made several batches of coopers extract beer and it came out fine.I always wanted to try the premier malt you see at the grocery store.I got 2 cans of a fresh batch and want to make five gal. gonna use their yeast.(2.2lb cans)I`m gonna use regular cane sugar. This also light hopped malt. Do you have a recipe to use knox geletin to clear beer if cloudy.Or maybe another solution for cloudy beer.Have been told premier malt is hard to clear. Thanks James ps maybe you have an old premier malt recipe.

Answer
I have used gelatin to clear beer on occasion.  My understanding is that gelatin works if the cloudiness is due to the yeast not falling out.  Anyway, here's what I do:  I take an envelope of (unflavored!) gelatin, sprinkle it on top of 1/4 cup of cool water.  Let it sit until the water is pretty much absorbed.  Then add 1 cup of boiling water and stir to dissolve.  Mix this solution into your beer and let it sit a couple of days.

I don't have any recent experience with Premier malt extract, so I'm afraid I can't help you there.  I do recall Coopers as being high-quality malt extract.
