Question
I had started the question and I don't know if I sent it or not so I'll start again!! I have recently made some beer from liquid malt.  It appeared to ferment properly and then I bottled it and left it the required time in a cool place.  On opening it this weekend it is very frothy/fizzy and tastes very yeasty/bitter such that it is not really drinkable!  Has it not fermented enough and should i empty all the bottles into the fermenting container add some more suger to improve it?

Answer
First,i'm sorry to say, dump the bottles and start over.Don't be dismayed,by that batch.Questions:

how long was the fermentation, and at what temp?
were a lot of gas bubbles formed?
do you know the starting gravity, and ending gravity?

Based on your info,so far:I would guess:

the fermenation was not completed, when you added the sugar,
the sediment from the fermenter was carried over into your bottles, accounting for the bitterness, and froth. The yeasty taste, due to the state of the fermentation,at time of bottling
any additional info would be appreciated,to help narrow the problem area
