Question
hey Dave,

in your description you mention that you can recommend equipment and methods, and also project costs.  what does it take to get started?  i really have absolutely no clue what i need or how to go about getting it or anything.  i'd like to brew something similar to Mickeys, that's my favorite.  thanks for the info.

Answer
Most people start out by using a can of hopped malt, plus some liquid malt (comes in bags), and some hops pellets.  For equipment, you'll need a fermentation vessel, airlock, siphon tube, bottle brush, long handle spoon, and capper.  You'll also need 2 1/2 cases of long neck dark colored bottles, and some caps.  You can get a kit of all of these items (plus you'll need to get the bottles) at your local brewing supply store, or on the internet, for about $150 to $200.  The kit will also have instructions, and you can get additional information at the brewing supply store.

Hope this helps!

Expertise

I have been brewing beer at home for more than 10 years. Would like to help other people get started. I can recommend equipment, methods, ingredients, and estimate what it would cost to get set up. I have travelled a lot in Europe, and have tried many kinds of beer.

Experience

More than ten years of home brewing.
