Question
hi Dave
just begining brewing first time actually
my sg level is between 1.020 1.010 & has been for several days what should i do to bring it down to its recomended bottling level
it's temp is lower than recomended it was made on the 31/7/04
thanks
Rick

Answer
If you are ready to bottle, but the s.g. is too high, there may be too much unfermented sugar in the wort. Take one cup of warm water (about 90 degrees), and add a spoonfull of corn surgar or malt and some yeast. Wait about an hour until the fermentation is going well, then pitch this into the wort (and re-seal) to try to get fermentation started again. If it doesn't start fermenting again within two days, then go ahead and bottle it anyway.

Hope this helps!

Expertise

I have been brewing beer at home for more than 10 years. Would like to help other people get started. I can recommend equipment, methods, ingredients, and estimate what it would cost to get set up. I have travelled a lot in Europe, and have tried many kinds of beer.

Experience

More than ten years of home brewing.
