Question
I am a single mother of 1 and I am looking for a college that I can get my brewmasters degree.  I would like to go to the world brewing academy in chicago but I can't get any financial aid because it is not an accredited college.  Can you please help me.  I have 14 years in the restraunt business and I think that a brewmasters degree would make a great addition to my resume.  Thank you very much

Answer
Ms Burkett:Here is the best site for you to look at:

www.ucdavis.edu/.This university has an undergraduate program for brewing, both at the university, and did have a home study program.I'm not sure if that's still available.Entrance requirements requires a knowldege of chemistry, math etc.On the search, type in brewing, then check out the university's links,on brewing. The university is an acredited college.I have been at that university, attending a brewing seminar years ago.

www.siebelinstitute.com will give you info,on available courses,as you said, they are not an accredited college, but are normally required attendance, for advancement into the field of brewing

Brewing is a very competitive, and the job market is very tight. My suggestion would be to go into the micro brewing field,as the job market is a little more open.

good luck
