Question
Is it possible to add more yeast to the wort after the fermenting process is done. I added the yeast the gave me ,but it was inactive. I couldn't find the proper yeast so used active dry Fleishmans from the store. It didn,t ferment as long as I think it should have.  Fist time brewer.   Thanks Loren  p.s I added 1/2 tsp of yeast to 5qts of wart

Answer
It's possible, but tricky, and can greatly affect the taste,in a bad way. Briefly can you give me the procedure you used to activate the yeast, temp of wort when yeast was added, and method used to add the yeast.Since this is your first time brewing,i would suspect this is the place to investigate.Fermentation takes about 5 days, and is dormant for the first 8+ hours.A good fermentation should produce a lot of bubbles (gas CO2,in your airlock)The most active fermentation is in the first 24 to 48 hrs.i will be glad to assist you,at any time
