Beginner Investing/investing in oil
Expert: Paul Henneman - 11/21/2008
QuestionHello Paul, my question to you is this: I am considering getting into the market in some way with regards to oil. What I would like advice on is, how to do this? I would like my investment to be tied/related to the price of crude oil, or even fuel "at the pumps". What I am unsure of is how to do this, ie. stocks, mutual funds, etc. Liquidity is not an issue until about 2-3 years time. Thank you for your time, Ben.
AnswerBen,
Thank you for your question!
The most direct way to invest in crude oil would be through futures. Here is a good article that summarizes the concept:

There is an additional link at the bottom of this short article for more detailed information. Or go directly to this website for more complete information:

This site appears to offer future trading services, and I am sure that you can locate many more with some simple google searches.
I hope that this helps! Please do not hesitate follow up with me if I can be of any additional service,
Sincerely,>
