Beginner Investing/Cash Balance

Question
Hello:

I have a simulation on-line trading account.  Can you explain to me how to calculate the cash balance in this type of account?
I know how to determine the buying power and the account value, but I cannot determine how to determine the cash balance. It should not be too difficult.

I contacted the organization that operates the simulator, but to this date, I have not received a reply regarding this question.

I thank you for your reply.

Answer
Kenneth,
Thank you for your question, I am not sure I understand your question properly. I think you are asking to see how much cash you have in your account, that is not invested in stocks or other assets? That should be very simple, there should be a line item called 'cash' or 'cash balance' displayed somewhere on your screen when you pull up your portfolio. Every companies trading website is completely different, so the exact nature of where this will be displayed varies greatly depending upon what service you are using. You should look for a screen or page that displays your account value. Usually it is very prominently displayed along with the value of any investments you are tracking.
If I can be of any additional service, please do not hesitate to follow up with me,

Sincerely,
