Question
Hello:

How often or common are stock quotes expressed by more than two decimal places? For example, most stock quotes that are seen on television or in published information are expressed to two decimal places as in $50.25 per share and not as $50.2543 per share.

I thank you for your reply.

Answer
kenneth,
Thank you for your question! Stock quotes are almost never expressed out more than two decimal points on public sources. Only very high level institutions or other large scale trading operations would typically have access to anything more than two decimal places.

I hope this helps, please do not hesitate to follow up with me if I can be of any additional service,

Sincerely,
