Question
It is common these days to see Chinese companies take large or even majority holdings in 'Western' companies e.g. gold / rare earth mining. For an investor is this encouraging? Are these Chinese companies likely to have any interest in future share price, or can they be seen just as asset stripping?

Many thanks
Dave

Answer
Too many assumptions here to answer this question. There is no proof that Chinese are taking holdings in American companies. This information can not be determined, and therefore the rest of the questions can not be answered. In conclusion, if this could be determined, investing should not be made on what others are doing, but what is suitable for you.
