Question
Hello Mr. Beacuchamp. Its nice to know that there are people that exist volunteering their time...this is great.
So i am 27 and I have about $700.00 saved in emergency fund (i know its no where near enough). However there are these 2 stocks that I am interested in buying. I didn't want to wait any longer. I have about an 300.00 for these two stocks (i may just choose one).
So I hear alot about sharebuilder, T-rowe, and others but its so hard choosing one. I am just looking for a place where i can buy my stock without paying so much out of pocket. So could your recommend one?
Also i assume that where ever I do decide to go with, they will charge me yearly for monitoring my stocks?
thanks

Answer
I do not recommend stocks for you, and for most people. I recommend a good mutual fund, and there are 15,000 of those. A mutual fund is well balanced and carries lower risk. You could go to the public library and read up on mutual funds in the Morningstar book. This is best to do in person and not on the Internet, since the book is many thousands of pages of detail. This is free and best for most investors. I have never recommended stocks for anyone unless they can afford to own at least ten stock of 100 shares of more.
