QuestionThe performance of model portfolios looks great. There is just one little problem: some of the stocks have very low volume and hence made it difficult for users to follow the trade. Is it possible to add a minimum averge daily volume of say 50,000 to the selection of model portfolio? Thanks.
AnswerThank yoiu Guoxiong for your question!
The benchmark portfolios already have a minimum stock price requirement of $5 and market cap of 100 million. But you are correct that at times comapnies with very low trading volume will appear in the portfolio. Your idea to add a trading volume limit is a good one, as you certainly want to be sure that you can sell the stock in a timely manner when the portfolio dictates.
You could go to the screening section of the website, enter the same screening criteria that is listed on the benchmark portfolio for the one you are interested in, and then add a trading volume limit. This would accomplish what you suggest in your email. We do have a more expensive software product available at www.VEInstitutional.com (there is a free demo) that would allow you to do this far more easily. You can click once on the benchmark portfolio you are interested in, then add additional criteria very easily. However, with a bit more work it is possible on the website you are already familiar with as well.
I hope this helps! Please do not hesitate to follow up with me if I can be of any further assistance,
