Question
I am a soilder in the United States Army. I am currently investing through a program call Thrift Savings Plan, which I believe acts like a 401k. I was wondering if there was a way to invest money in a long term fund, but still have access to it, preferably through the internet?  Baisicly I'm looking for a sort of savings plan that earns a higher rate of interest than a bank would offer.  Thank you

Answer
Felix,

Your human resources department probably have a list of approved funds. I would look over this list. Go to a local library and look up the funds in the Morningstar book. This will give you alot of free information on the best funds that are approved for investing. You probably can check the performance online once you have the password and access lines from the human resource department.
