Question
So, I want to invest, but I'm young enough that I don't like the idea of mutual funds yet.  I can afford risk, I have no dependants of any kind and I want to be in charge of each and every stock I own.  I need to know the best way to purchase and possibly sell stock.  Best fees etc. I know nothing about who I should go to.  I don't want to go to a place where the advisors are glorified salesman.  And I don't want to end up spending more on fees and commisions than is advisable.  Frankly there are thousands of books on this subject and I'm not even sure which of those I should spend money and time on.  I would sincerely appreciate any help that you can lend.

Answer
You could go to the site of http://wfnn.info and read the stocks on the site. There is a mutual fund section also. Unless you can afford over 10 stocks, I do recommend only mutual funds. This site is free and charges nothing for the research they do.
