Answer
Hello Lynne,

People arriving at Charleroi/Brussels South can take the shuttlebus to Brussels, which arrives at the Gare du Midi (south station). (there you can take a train to central station wich is near the Marriot-hotel; or, if you're not loaded with luggage, it is a 10 minutes walk to the hotel). It has a journey time of about an hour and is scheduled to complement flight times (30 minutes after each landing). Tickets can be purchased on board at a cost of €10 (taxes included).

You can take a train too. Charleroi-south station is only 10 minutes away from the airport (there are buses). To Brussels there are 2 trains each hour (7 and 34 after the hour). This will cost you 7 EUR (+ eventually the bus to the trainstation of course). If you are younger than 26 or older than 60, you can get very cheap tickets. By train it will take app. 40 minutes to go to Brussels Central station.

Here is a link to the website from Carleroi airport:

You can find more info concerning travelling between Charleroi (french for 'king charles'!) and Brussels.

I hope I served you well. If you have extra questuions, don't hesitate to ask me. Enjoy your stay!!!!
