AboutNita Expertise We have been to Belize, Ambergis Caye, all through the Florida Keys from Miami all the way to Key West, in the Bahamas, Marsh Harbour, Hopetown, Great Guano Caye, Man o War. Most of the Islands in the Abacos.
Question I heard about Berlize on a talk show. It was portrayed as a paradise on Earth. I found some web sites indicating the same thing.I know if something sounds too good tobe true, it probably is.Then checked out travel advisory web site and that made it sound like a poverty ridden slum with rampant crime ,poorly maintained accomodations, disease and critters (bugs and lizzards) Can you give me an objective review?.........Norma
Answer Hi Norma,
Well, Belize Is really beautiful, but it also depends on the part that you go to. When I went, I went to Ambregis Caye, an island off the mainland of Belize. It has been few years since I have been there, but all that I have seen is that they have made it better. There are more hotels and resorts on the little island which if I can remember right is only about 2 miles long. I really enjoyed it there. There is only one small town on the whole island, San Pedro. The people were really nice and you had different things to do there. If you scuba dive, snorkel, or go sailing around the island. It has the second largest barrier reef to Australias'. On the mainland however is different. Some parts of it is still like it was years ago (small huts, etc). As in any country, you are going to have bugs that is only natural, and since it is in Central America you are going to have different kinds. When I was on the mainland I went to the Maruba Resort, you can find it on the web, they have a website that shows pictures, etc....I really enjoyed myself there also, so I guess it kind of depends on the person too. Let me know if you want the web addresses to any of these places and I will send them to you. My email is: neskeeter1@aol.com
Hope this has helped some.
