Question
Hi
I need a belly dancer for my wedding in fairfax,VA-do you know anyone or do you perform at weddings?I need a zeffa and performance to tabla for about an hour or so.It will be on March 24th in a ball room.60 guests

Answer
Yes, I perform at dozens of weddings each year and have presented blessed brides and their grooms to their guests during a sparkling traditional zeffa!
However, I am not located in VA!  My suggestion would be for you to do an online search for "belly dancer VA" and start emailing dancers asap!
You must understand that most professional belly dancers, like myself, are booked months in advance. Occasionally, we do have openings and cancelations that would enable a last minute request such as yours.
A zeffa is a traditional processional usually lead by the belly dancer (who brings good luck to the couple) who wears a 'shamedan' or candleabra on her head to light the way for the newlyweds!
The zeffa lasts under 10-15 minutes.
If you want a longer show for your reception, it would not be a zeffa, but a full show.  You could certainly hire a belly dancer to do either, or both!
Best of luck and Mabruk!  Congratulations on your upcoming nuptuals!
