Bermuda/fashion etiquette

Question
Good morning Aruna.  My husband and I will be visiting Bermuda in August
and
staying at the Fairmont Southampton. All but one night will be arranged by
his
employer at the resort. I do believe our free night will be a trip to the Swizzle.
We may take a day to shop, but will otherwise spend the daylight hours
walking
the beach and breathing in your beauty of your island.  My question is
regarding
fashion etiquette for women.  I can't wait to slip into my cuffed satin evening
shorts and strappy high heels.  The shorts, however, are nowhere near my
knees
as I'm 5'2" and this is a bad look for me.  I do not wish, however, to be
shunned
or appear tacky. Tell me a little more about appropriate dress for women day
and night.   I there actually a law regarding length of shorts for men and/or
women?  Thanks for your time.

Laura

Answer
Laura,

There is no law prohibiting short length or anything of the sort, and most women between 16 and 35 wear very short shorts when going out at night. During the day, people tend to wear longer shorts, but above the knee is fine. It only gets in appropriate when your bum is about to pop out from under them! But very short shorts are in, and great because Bermuda is so hot and humid. So do not be afraid to wear your shorts. Also, short cuffed shorts make everyones legs look longer, so I'm sure it won't be a bad look for you. If anything, it will increase your look. Enjoy your vacation!
