Bermuda/Sea Glass

Question
Dear Nan,
I recently returned from Bermuda and was wondering if you knew why there was so much sea glass located at the small beach near Alexander Battery fort.
Thanks,
Jen

Answer
Hi Jen, Sorry to say that you've got me stumped for an answer to your question!  Isn't "sea glass" glass that has been weathered by the sea and sand over a period of time? So it stands to reason that you'd wonder where the glass/broken glass comes from in the first place.  Was it simply dumped there (and near the Naval Cemetery) years ago? I just don't know.  But your question has piqued my interest and I'm going to find out!  Thanks for the good question!  Did you collect any pieces of sea glass while you were there?  Nan  PS  I'm sad to say that there are many dumps around Bermuda where all kinds of things end up.
