Question
hi, we have time share at the st georges club a nd will have a 3 month old this year . my husband says we shouldnt take an infant out of the country, especially since the nearest medical treatment would be so far away and he is also worried about the baby being exposed to  a different country. do you think we should make the trip and how far is the closest hospital. and if you have any other input it would be appreciated. thanks

Answer
Thanks for your question.

3 months old is a delicate age, but I don't think there is anything different, health-wise, in Bermuda as in the United States. The flight may not be fun, for a 3 month year old, but it's not very long as you know! There are no health issues that are a threat to people and health care is pretty much on par with the United States. The hospital is in the middle of the island in Paget. They have paramedics who are also on the ends of the island if the 20 minutes it takes for a ambulance to get to the end of the island is too long. But I doubt you will have any use for them with your child, so I personally don't think you have anything to worry about. The only difference is the humidity that is much more intense in Bermuda, and I wouldn't know whether or not that would affect an infant. So you may sweat more and get an occasional mosquito bite, so other than a small itch, there's not much to worry about!

I hope this was helpful!
