We are interested in Elbow Beach Resort, as per our travel agent's suggestion. I was wondering if it is okay to stay in an Ocean View Deluxe Room. Some reviews explain that these rooms are old, smelly and unkempt. Is this true? Should we change hotels, as we can not afford a personal cottage?
Thanks so much-Kim
Answer Hi Kim,
You know, Kim, reviews are simply personal opinions. If I were you, I'd go for it and see for myself. Here's why: The Elbow Beach resort is on beautiful Elbow Beach and while there are a few resorts actually on beaches in Bermuda, they are few and far between. If you like the idea of being on a beach, you'll be very happy. The South Shore location is ideal for easily exploring other parts of Bermuda (and you should definitely get out of your room and explore). I've never stayed at the resort but I do visit the beach nearly every year. I've also eaten there and seen a show years back. Very nice. The amenities are plentiful and I believe the resort was entirely renovated a while back - but I could be wrong about the Ocean View rooms. I'd throw caution to the wind and enjoy your trip. And remember, if you step into a hotel room anywhere in your travels and detect a smell - or something else that you reasonably can't accept -- point it out, ask to see another room or ask to change. Hope this was helpful. Nan
