thank you

Answer
Good Day Sherry,

As you are docking in King's Wharf, Dockyard, you will be on the western part of the island. It's very simple to get to Horseshoe Bay, it really depends on how many people you are travelling with, ages, and your cost range.

There are two options: taxi or bus.
Taxi's will be waiting at your exit point, and are very comfortable and seat up to 6 people in a van. For 6 persons to travel to Horseshoe Bay from Dockyard, it costs about $30-40 dollars, depending on traffic, if you have bags, etc. Taxis are good if you are travelling with any elderly, or if you have smaller children who may not want to sit in a crowded bus for half an hour-45 minutes, or if in general you'd prefer to do a little more of a trip more catered to you.

Buses are also readily available in Dockyard, and to get to Horseshoe Bay, you will need the number 7. Now, you have to be aware that Horseshoe Bay is the most popular beach so it will be crowded and the number 7 will be full of tourists just like yourself. The bus is better for adults or adolescents travelling but elderly and children are fine too. Most buses have hydraulics that lower for elderly who wish to get on, and there is an area where you can put your bags and such. For a one way trip it's $3.50, and they take only coins or tickets, no paper money so you can get the necessary items at your exit area from the ship. If you have a child who is under 5, they are free.

Getting back from Horseshoe Bay is different, as there is a long hill where you have to walk up to catch the bus. If it is a busy day, there will be taxi's at the bottom waiting for people. If you do catch a taxi to the beach, you can ask him to come back at a certain time to pick you up. Or if they're not available when you want them to come back, they'll be happy to get someone else to come back for you.

I hope this information was helpful!
