Bermuda/Ship travel Boston to Bermuda mid September
Expert: Michael - 8/21/2009
QuestionHow smooth of a sailing should we expect if we take a cruise 9/18/09 from Boston to Bermuda? Not a good sailor so do not want to risk aftermath hurricane seas.
Thank you
AnswerHi Steven,
According to the Atlantic Basin weather service today looks treacherous for the North Atlantic. Hurricanes cannot be predicted. They can only be watched as they are formed, usually off the coast of Africa and then tracked.
Most often they travel West towards the Lesser and Greater Antilles/Haiti/PR and then either further west into the gulf or northwest towards Cuba and Florida. Not often do we see them up Boston way, or more, where you are interested, the North Atlantic.
September is a very beautiful month in Bermuda. Spectacular I will tell you matter of fact. I may even be my favorite month. Yes, September. Hot yet not so humid. Shorts all day long and evening if you go that way. No sweaters, bench warmers, jackets or such. The sunshine will be just a gorgeous as a summer month. Both the air temperature and sea surface temperature will be approximately 80F. What a lousy summer you had in Beantown! You are in for a treat.
The North Atlantic doesn't pick up to delirious until late November which is when they stop cruising to Bermuda.
Go for it!
Happy planning!
Michael
