Bermuda/day at hotel

Question
I am coming in on a cruise ship but would like to spend a day at a  nice hotel with a nice beach and pool, beach chairs, restaurant for lunch, drinks. . . Do any hotels offer just day rates?

Answer
Hi Kathy,

This is more of a hotel question than a Bermuda question.

As the daughter of a former innkeeper, I can tell you that day rates are indeed offered - or used to be - to guests.  Now, I'm interpreting this question a bit differently than you might have intended.  A day usually translates to 24 hours. So, you'd actually have a "night" rate.  Check in times vary of course as do check out times.

BUT, if you're asking if hotels charge a fee to use their amenities during the day, well, I'd have to say why not visit the Bermuda Tourism website (http://www.bermudatourism.com) choose a few, and send an e-mail about your particular request.

You might be surprised.  (I might be, too!)

Try asking the folks at Elbow Beach, the Southampton Princess, the Hamilton Princess, Grotto Bay or you might even ask the timeshare folks at St. George's or Tucker Town.

Good Luck!  And Happy Cruising to Bermuda,
