My husband and I will be cruising to Bermuda on 5/21/05.  Our full day in Hamilton happens to be Bermuda Day 5/24/05.  What can I expect?  Are stores closed?  If so, should we look at alternative things to do elsewhere, or is it worth staying in Hamilton for the day?

Answer
On the contrary Toni.  All stores will be open.  Bermuda day will be filled with all kinds of events.  Marching bands, the pipe band, the gombey dancers and a host of good times.  Traditionally this is the day that the Bermuda Dinghy Races begin.  Their sails are fourty feet high.  More than the boat.  Hehe.  But you'll see this in Hamilton
Harbor.

Do take a short walk up to Fort Hamilton for a vry nice view of the City and Harbor.

This day will be a plus for your trip.  Very festive.
