Bermuda/Bermuda Weather/Resorts

QuestionMy husband and I are thinking of taking our 22 month old to Bermuda this fall. When is hurricane season there? Also can you recommend either Horizons or the Elbow Beach Club?
AnswerDear Diane,
Hurricane seaosne runs June through November. This is also the prime time to be in bermuda, June through November. I wouldn't discourage anone to pass off on a Bermuda vacation based on hurricane season in general.
Horizon Cottages is a lovely cottage colony a bit away from the southshore. It has a tendency to be quiet. It is very Bermudian in culture and service. They have two sister properties called Coral Beach Club and The Waterloo House. Coral is on the famed southshore just beyond Elbow, and the Waterloo is famed for top notice traditional service. They are situated on the harbour in Hamilton. I wouldn't doubt if exchange privilages for dinner were offered, and I wouldn't doubt use of Coral Beach would be offered. You could verify this at www.horizonscottages.com
Elbow is immediately on a beautiful streatch of southshore beach. It has recently been renovated and in under new ownership/management. This is a high quality large hotel. You can see Elbow Beach at www.mandarinoriental.combermuda.
I can tell you, Diane, that Elbow may have a tiny bit more going on in activity while Horizons may lean toward the relaxing quiet experiance.
Either selection would take you over the top. Both are regarded highly as the best in their catagories (large hotel/cottage colony). Both will pamper you.
Once you make a decision Diane, don't second guess yourself. The resorts are both great. Bermuda is what you are seeking and the Bermuda experiance is what you will get no matter where you stay.
Happy planning!
Michael
