Bermuda/Bermuda cruise and stay

QuestionMy family will be going to Bermuda in June. Couple of us do not fly and would rather take a boat over but want to stay at the resort with the rest of the family. Do you know of crusie lines that offer one way travel?
AnswerHello Kelley,
I do not know of a cruise line that offers one way travel. Based on Bermuda immigration requirements of travel to Bermuda I would say that none do.
Bermuda immigraton requirements state that a visitor must hold a return ticket to Bermuda upon entry.
The good news for your family members who do not care to fly is that the flight is very, very short from the east coast, say Boston, NY or Philly. Actual air time would be an hour and twenty minutes, maybe a tiny bit more. Remember that Bermuda is approximately 560 miles off the coast of Cape Hatteras, NC.
My experiance, Kelley, has been that once in the air, they serve a coke, or drink with pretzels or whatever, you are descending. The approach to the islands is a dramatic picture as the ocean changes in color from over the Continental Shelf to over the Reefs around Bermuda that extend out twenty-five miles. This is where you begin your sensory journey.
The time alloted in a weeks vacation on the island surpasses by all accounts the time used in sailing/cruising to and from Bermuda. Bermuda is an island that will cause you to desire more time there.
To your family members who are apprehensive about flying let me suggest a visit to their doc to discuss a presciption for a mild anti-anxiety med just for the travel to and fro. I know many peole who utilize a mild med such as Zanax to relieve their flying anxiety.
On a persoanl note let me tell you that Bermuda will be beginnig to peek in all that it has to offer a visitor in June. The weather will be wondeful with air and sea temps perfect, and the humidity will be why Bermuda is considerd semi-tropical. However do bring an umbrella for passing showers.
The few minutes in the air arriving to your destination will be forgotten the moment you exit your aircraft and step onto the tarmack. Bermuda will be a beautiful escape from your everyday life, and a magical week for you and your family. Linda and I have found Bermuda to be enchanted and will go so far as to say that after you experience Bermuda you would feel as though you cheated yourself if you cruised and lost four days on the sea.
Happy planning!
