Bermuda/Bus transportation passes

QuestionDear Michael:
Next year I will be taking a cruise to Bermuda. It will dock at St. George and not move on to Hamilton or the Dockyards. Since I'm not the moped type I plan to get around to the various sights by bus. From the bus map I've seen everything looks pretty accessible. I also read that there are daily $11 bus passes that provide unlimited transportation and that they are available at the main bus station in Hamilton. Do you know of any place in St. George where I can get them?
Thanks.
AnswerYes Larry, the $11.00 Unlimited One-day pass is available for purchase at any Visitor's Center. At St. George it is located just to the right as you walk over the brige from Ordinance Island where perhaps your ship will dock.
In the event that you dock at Penno's Wharf you will walk through town to King's Square and towards Ordinance Island. Here it will be on the left side.
St. George is a fabulous location. A long day trip will take you to the southshore beaches, perhaps walking from Warwick Long Bay along the shoreline to Horseshoe Bay, and reboard the bus back to Hamilton for a bit of shopping. Stop on the return trip from Hamilton to St. George at the Swizzle Inn for a cool one and you can checkout the Perfume Factory or Crystal Caves from this location if it calls you.
I would nix the Dockyard unless you are a maritime type guy where you would want to see the Maritime Museum whereby the Ferry from Hamilton to the Dockyard is a delightful ride.
Happy planning!
Michael
