Bermuda/Traveling with kid
Expert: Michael - 5/14/2003
QuestionMy husband and I will be celebrating our 25th anniversary next year. We live in New England, and we'd like to take a special trip and are considering Bermuda. Our son will be with us -- he'll be 14 by next summer. We're attracted by the island's beauty, but is it a kid-friendly place? He likes the beach, but I don't think he'd be interested in snorkeling or anything like that. We don't know yet whether we'd like to cruise or fly. Specific hotel recommendations would be really appreciated.
AnswerHi Anne,
Happy anniversary!
I would without hesitation recommend you fly to Bermuda. Island time will be appreciated.
Bermuda is not a Disney vacation, however there are many things you can do with your son. Horseback riding along the beautiful southshore, the Wildcat Adventure Ride, a high speed boat ride around the island in two hours, kayaking, and just roaming the beaches is a treat. The island is people friendly. Transportation is great.
I could recommend the Sonesta, or one of the Bermuda Collection. All are on a pink saned beach. Do checkout Bermuda's Department of Tourism at www.bermudatourism.com.
Don't hesitate if you have any further inquiers.
Happy planning!
Michael
