Bermuda/Water Temperature
Expert: Michael - 6/20/2007
QuestionQUESTION: Hi what will be the water temperature in the first week of July in Bermuda?
Thanks
ANSWER: Hello Arv,
Observation of Bermuda's climate for decades can predict, with reliability, July sea surface temperature to be at the low 80's F.
The highest sea surface temperature recorded is 85.3F while the lowest on record is 81.7F. The mean is 81.6F.
FYI, July is the second warmest month by only a few degrees.

QUESTION: Thanks very much. What is the current water temperature (20 June) please. Also which of the beaches are (a) best for snorkelling (b) least crowded. And a final question. I heard that car rentals are not allowed in Bermuda. (family of 4!! 2 kids 7,11). Thanks again
AnswerHello again Arv,
Today, Bermuda's sea surface temperature is reported to be 76F.
From my perspective, Arv, best from shore snorkeling is either Church Bay on the Southshore, or from Achilles Bay around to Tobacco Bay in St. George. Neither are crowded.
It is true. Car rentals are not available in Bermuda. However, the bus system is very functional and would get you timely to any location you may choose to travel on the island chain. Moped (scooter) rentals are also quite fun and would give you more flexibility. Linda and I always rent a double. If both you and your wife are confident you may consider this as an alternative.
You questions are welcome anytime.
Happy planning!
