Bermuda/Young Adults

QuestionHi Michael,
We are cruising into Bermuda next week with two 19 yr olds. While I've stress the importance of control and behavior, they have told me (honest boys) they want to go to a bar and night club.
While I can't be with them 24/7 can you "suggest" a place for their 1st time. (not 1st time drinkers if that helps)
Thank you
D
AnswerHello Diane,
Wow! For safety's sake I would think a hotel pub somewhere not off the beaten path would be best suited. Something like the Hamilton Princess downtown Hamilton. Maybe too old a crowd (but the bartender would be a hoot.) Other than that, next to Ordinance Island, where your cruise ship may dock, is the White Horse Tavern. This tavern runs sports events on the TV and groups of people, including locals, frequent the White Horse. You too may enjoy having a swizzle there.
You will find that bartenders are friendly sorts.
In St. George is the nightclub Light. In Hamilton is the nightclub called Splash, next to Portofino's. These have DJ's from 10 to 3!
Have the boys considered a Booze Cruise out of Albouy's Point in Hamilton? Depending on the expedition they could be lively. There is one called "Don't Stop the Carnival Excursion." This takes them out to an island for a BBQ and party, and of course rum swizzle.
For info on the latter, pick up the magazine THIS WEEK IN BERMUDA when you arrive. It is available at any tourism kiosk.
Happy planning!
Michael
