Any places i should stay away from and any bad neighborhoods that i should know about? thanks jetfannow1@aol.com
AnswerHi Tom,
April I think of as the "shoulder Season". Kinda between The fabulous months of June through September but getting close. The off season is definately billed as Rendezvous Time and runs November through mid March, so you will be just beyond their off season.
Last year if you hit rain you simply were unlucky as the fourty year mean shows mearly 3.4 days per month of percipitation.
As a visitor there are no areas you need to be concerned about. Bermuda is a friendly and safe island. However with the advent of a few drugs finding there way onto the island, I would not venture into the back ways or outskirts of town at night. For instance, if you were in St. George, rather than walk after dark to Blackbeards down by Fort St. Catherine for dinner, take a taxi, or a moped. Or if you are in Hamilton what business would you have walking Victoria Park? None. This just makes sense.
Walking Front Street in Hamilton in the evening going to the pubs or wherever will be fine as well would be Water Street and Kings Square in St. George. Personally I would not hesitate to attend the pubs of Bermuda any time of day.
If you are docking at the Dockyard know that this is a tourist area an you will be all set viviting the Pickled Onion or wherever else catches your fancy.
In the event you would like a personal tour of the island or any specific liking of Bermuda, "Out & About" with Ms. Jo Cook would take you around to those specific area of interst. Very short money too! Wether they be the beautiful sights, the foliage, the railway trails or things unique to Bermuda she is a great take. Jo's stuff can be checked out at:

or write her at EMail: gjpcook@ibl.bm
I hope this will help you with your concerns. Feel free to write anytime.
Happy planning!
