Dear Mary Beth,
What a great idea! I will personally check out this exciting diversion next time out on the island. Thank you again.
When I was in USVI many years ago I went on a snokeling tour with what was the world's fastest catamaran, The Fury. It was a blast!
Anyhow Mary Beth, getting back to your inquiry ... there are two catamaran companies that I know of. Rising Sun Cruises which is more for a group of people (I think). Then you have Fantasea Sailing. Because Fanatasea is out of St. George Harbour and I don't need a group, rather, I can join with others I will take a close look at them.
Both are listed as follows:
Rising Sun can be found at www.charterbermuda.com
Fantasea Sailing can be found at www.fantasea.bm
Happy planning!

AnswerHello Mary Beth,
If you scroll around my previous responses you may find I preiously fielded this question. But in the event it may be hidden too far down the line ...
Hartley's Helmut Dive is a winner. Hart will take you by boat to a reef where you will be fitted with some sort of head gear and hose that will enable you to walk down the rear ladder onto the ocean floor. It may sound scary but this is wonderful for kids and grown-ups alike. You don't go down fathoms. Relatively shallow.
Horseback riding is a fabulous thing to do too. Out of Spicelands on Middle Road. The trail ride goes along the Shouthshore Beaches and is just over an hour long. The horses are gentle. Call first to querry about age limits.
Crystal Caves will bring them into Harry Potter type cavern(s).
Getting off the buss at Warwick Long Bay and walking down the steep slope to the ocean and proceeding to walk to Horseshoe Bay will be a thrill of a lifetime. You will pass several beautiful pink sand beaches with trails lined with grape trees and walk over outcroppings of volcanic structures with great views. We bring a soft cooler with drinks and out towels to dip in any of the secluded coves you will pass. It may sound like a long trip from Warrwick Long to Horseshoe Bay, but it is not. Perhaps a half to three quarters of a mile.
How about a surry ride around St. George if you are in that town? Or in Hamilton?
I donb't know how old your kids are. But kayaking is something I will eventualy try out of Grotto Bay.
A walk just anywhere you like with Ms. Jo Cook is a wonder. She is the best. Maybe along an old railway trail.
You can enjoy the aquairium and Baily's Ice Cream Parlor. Go to several different beaches. Shelly Bay, John Smith's ... these are not on the famed southshore but are quiet and unique.
Do call the department of tourism at (800)BERMUDA and ask for a Handy Reference Map, a Transportation Schedule and some miscellaneous other stuff for firts timers.
You are going to have the vacation of a lifetime.
Happy planning!
