Bermuda/job

QuestionI have 30 years experience in a hospital laboratory blood bank transfusion service. How many hospitals are in Bermuda and what are their sizes? Are there any openings in this field at the present time?
AnswerHello Alicia,
Remember, I'm a tourist, but here goes ...
King Edward VII Memorial is the main hospital located just a skip away from Front Street downtown. For a small Island, King Edward VII is well established. Perhaps as you would think a cosmopolitan city hospital should be. Services include everything from general health care to the most specialized programs for life-threatening injuries and illnesses. Specialty services include cardiology, oncology, orthopedics, psychiatry, surgery, and more.
We had one occassion to visit for an infection. The experience was much like going to the hospital in my hometown of 60,000 in Massachusetts. The job was done ... intake ... nurse ... doctor ... prescription.
There is also a St. Brendan's Psyciatric Hospital whose emphasis includes alcohol and drug abuse, along with day programs.
I googled to see basic career opps at King Edwards. There are a few but none in your field. Take a peek at www.bermudahospitals.bm/ as often as you like.
Alicia, visit Bermuda if you have a chance. It is simply the best.
Happy planning!
Michael
