Question
I am looking to sell a brand of liquor to a liquor distributor. Is each state set up where you can only have one distributor per state? Is there a website or anyway to find out this information. Also once i have a distributor ,can i change distributors in the future

Answer
As to how you award licenses, you chose whether to license by the state or some other geographic measure.  I've seen that there are several companies that have whole swatches of distribution territory extending over several states.

The issues you'll run into are: exclusivity; cross-state trade; cross-thru distribution; national or regional chains ignoring your distribution agreements.

I don't know of a particular website catering for the information you want; there'll undoubtedly be associations that will be have people who have the detailed experience you're looking for.
