Question
I have a bottle of aged 12 years 100 Pipers Premium Scotch Whisky. The tag with the bottle has a number 13264.
The bottle is not the current shape but a rather beautiful "cut glass" oval shape with a large glass stopper.
I can find no reference to this bottle on the internet. Can you please shed some light on how old it might be, and if it could be considered a collectors item. Thanks.

Answer
Hi Peter

Because the whisky has such a high alcohol level, the additional age won't change the contents...so the whisky itself isn't worth much more than current version.  I would estimate the whisky's value at something like $25-35.

But the bottle may be of value to a bottle collector. I am an expert in beverages, but not bottles.  I suggest you check out this site:

antiquebottles.com

They have a lot of information, and a forum where various experts share their knowledge.

Hope that helps! Sorry I don't have more exciting news.  If it were me, I would open the bottle on a special occasion and enjoy it with family and friends over the holidays!
