Question
Paul,

I have found a bottle of 1956 Crown Royal that is still sealed and in the original purple pouch .  I have been searching exhaustively for over a year and have not been able to put a value on it.  Do you have any ideas as to how much this is worth?  I appreciate any information you can give me.  Thanks!!

Answer
Dear Jessica:

Because distilled spirits like Scotch and Brandy have such a high alcoholic content, they really do not change with age...unlike some of the finest wines.   As a result, they do not gain much in value over time.  You might be able to sell the bottle on ebay for $150 or more....but I think you would be better off saving it for a special occasion and sharing it with your friends and family.

Sorry I don't have better news.
