Question
Aloha from Hawai'i.
Traditional (iced) Thai tea has ground tamarind seeds in it. Can you tell me how I would 'cure' or otherwise prepare the seeds at home? My own research has failed.
Thanks!!

Answer
Hi Nicole

This may be more than you can tackle at home...but basically the seeds are roasted (much like coffee beans) and then ground up.  If you roast your own coffee, then you should be able to experiment a bit to see what works.  It will obviously depend on how dry the seeds are, and the roasting temperature and time.

Does that help?
